Events in the current Olympic Games are focused on athletics and skills. When the modern Olympics returned to the world stage in 1896, the games went on to include non-sporting, yet skill-based, fields. From 1912 to 1952, events included architecture, literature, music, painting and sculpture: https://www.olympedia.org/editions/8/sports/LIT

There ought to be a modern Olympic event for finding information on the internet. The aim is to deliver coherent content to the judges faster than your competitors.

Hurdles will be applied to all competitors:

  • Forcing you to change away from your default web browser,

  • Turning off the wifi,

  • Interrupting your search with a call: how politely you answer affects your score,

  • Dropping your phone so the screen cracks.

Penalties are applied for:

  • Accepting all cookies,

  • Paying a site for access,

  • Incorrect emojis,

  • Using Artificial Intelligence,

  • Shouting at the screen.

Using the latest phone attracts a difficulty factor of 1.0. Using a lower Generation device increases your points and also your stress. Think you can connect with a 2G phone? That’s between you and your cardiovascular system.

What event would you like to introduce to the Olympics?
